I’m Karen

and this is Karen Roams, and I’ve spent 32 years wandering the world with a backpack and a hunger for the real thing — street food over buffets, back roads over tourist trails, and conversations with locals over curated itineraries. I’ve crossed into 22 countries and explored 11 of Mexico’s 32 states, including a decade of driving the rugged, beautiful length of Baja California — a road I know well enough to warn others about the potholes and point them to the best fish tacos. Through it all, I’ve been quietly building something: a YouTube channel called Karen Roams, where I brings my Roamies community along for the kind of travel most people are too nervous to try alone. Her stories are honest, specific, and I’ll cut anything that feels fake — because for me, travel has never been about the highlight reel. It’s always been about getting lost on purpose.
